Q: I am not sure what my goals should be, I just want to look and feel better. Where do I start?
A: Form follows function. Feeling better starts with moving better. Looking better follows the effort put into moving, eating, and sleeping better. Start with scheduling an assessment and discuss your unique needs and the plan to meet them.
Q: What do you mean by “performance training”?
A: You can train for aesthetics. But at Invictus6 we believe the “look” comes with the performance. So we follow Circular Strength Training protocols that seek “health first fitness” and with our TACFIT training programs we are training first and foremost for performance: both physical and mental. To flow with life’s turmoil with strength, grace, and presence of mind.
Q: How often should I be training?
A: Everyday. Change your mindset from “working out” to practicing to move better. This is something you can do everyday. Five minutes of joint mobility upon waking in the morning and 5 minutes of compensatory stretching before bed can constitute the daily practice (or training) on a no intensity day. Fifteen minutes of each would be better, but this would be the minimum. At Invictus6 we favor following the 4 Day or 7 Day intensity wave used by TACFIT. But there are a number of flexible training schedules to follow.
